Line regulation is a characteristic that expresses the amount of “output voltage change in response to a change in the input voltage”.
It is ideal for a constant output voltage to be output regardless of the input voltage.

The example above shows a “simple increase” where when the input voltage increases, the output voltage also increases, but in practice the increase and decrease might not be monotonic.
